About Strong & Courageous Wrestling

The Strong & Courageous Wrestling Club was founded in 1989 by USA Wrestling Hall of Fame Coach Norman Osteen.

Created with the vision to foster and grow elite athletes rooted in Christ-centered values, Strong and Courageous quickly grew to become one of the premier development clubs in the United States and the training ground for future All-Americans, Olympians, and Hall of Famers.

After previously retiring Coach Osteen has returned to the mat with the mission of developing future generations of wrestlers and to reestablish North Carolina as a dominant force in wrestling locally and on the national scene.

Where will practices be held?

Practices will be held at West High School located at 3600 Haywood Rd in Hendersonville NC beginning on November 1st with our pre-season clinic

What time is practice?

Practices will be held Sundays (late afternoon/ early evening) and one evening during the week (TBA)

What are the benefits of being a club member?

Your membership to the Strong & Courageous Wrestling Club includes:

Complimentary admission to Strong & Courageous hosted camps and clinics (season and monthly pass holders only)

Invitation to travel to additional out of state meets during the season (additional fees apply)

Access to two practices per week during the wrestling season led by National Wrestling Hall of Fame Coach Norman Osteen

What if I miss a practice?

Unfortunately we are not able to offer makeup sessions

What ages and skill levels are welcome at practice?

Practices are open to boys and girls of all ages and skill levels ages 8th grade and down.
Please note: due to NCHSAA regulations, high school athletes must currently be enrolled at West Henderson High School

What is your inclement weather policy?

To protect the safety of our wrestlers and families, practice will be cancelled if Henderson County schools have been closed for the day. We will communicate via emial and text if and when practice is cancelled for any reason.
